Connecticut Upgrades
MetroCast is proud to be your cable provider. Every day, we're committed to delivering the value that our customers expect and deserve.
To improve your service even more, we are undertaking a complete system upgrade in the Connecticut area. We've built a new technical facility in Montville, which delivers unparallel bandwidth at 1 GHz and a fiber optic architecture which will deliver new technology, like Video On Demand and MetroCast Digital Phone, as well as unequaled reliability and clarity.
Over the next few months, you will see our technicians hard at work in your neighborhood. Street by street, we'll be switching your video and internet service to the new MetroCast system.
What does this mean for you?
In addition to increased reliability, you'll see more channels, increased speeds in your Internet service, and a completely digital video service with unparalleled sharpness and clarity. The big news is that you'll see many additions to your channel line-up including new digital channels, more high definition offerings, expanded premium network packages and the addition of Starz and Encore. You will also be able to enjoy Turner Classic Movies and SportsNet New York on your Expanded Basic Service.
As we make changes in your town and neighborhood, we'll mail a new channel line-up and deliver a notification card to each household. Below you'll find up to date information on our progress, town by town. As always, we welcome your comments and questions.
We are very excited about the changes ahead and look forward to providing you with the best possible service. Thank you for being a MetroCast customer.

Commonly Asked Questions
What will I need to do in my home to make the changes?
Most likely nothing. We at MetroCast will make the changes so they appear on your set-top converter. Settings you’ve programmed into your MetroCast converter such as Favorites or Parental Control, will reset automatically. If you do not currently use a converter, you may have to update any settings you’ve established on your TV set. The TV owner’s manual should provide you with instructions.
Will my service go off when the change is made?
Your services will go off for a period of no more than 12 hours. When the service is restored you will enjoy the new channel line-up and Internet speeds.
How were the new channels chosen?
When you request a new channel by phone, email or in person, your MetroCast customer service representative records that request. Most of the channels we’re adding are your top requested cable networks.
When will I be able to use new services such as Video On Demand and Telephone?
The new MetroCast cable system will allow for these services shortly after you begin enjoying your new channel line-up.
