Eudora Mail setup
From the main Netscape Mail screen, click Edit, then Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings
- In Eudora, go to the Tools menu and select OPTIONS
- In the Options window, you will see several icons on the left. Select GETTING STARTED
- In the REAL NAME field, type your name the way you would like people to see it when they get email from you. For example, Santa Claus.
- In the RETURN ADDRESS field, enter your email address. For example: username@metrocast.net
- In the MAIL SERVER (INCOMING) field, enter the POP server that was given to you by your friendly MetroCast support representative:
CT: pop.ct.metrocast.net
MD: pop.md.metrocast.net
ME: pop.metrocast.net
MS: pop.ms.metrocast.net
NH: pop.metrocast.net
PA: pop.pa.metrocast.net
SC: pop.sc.metrocast.net
VA: pop.va.metrocast.net
- In the LOGIN NAME field, enter the login name given to you by your friendly MetroCast support representative, username (without the @metrocast.net after it)
- In the SMTP SERVER (OUTGOING) field, enter the SMTP or Outgoing mail server that was given to you by your friendly MetroCast support representative:
CT: smtp.ct.metrocast.net
MD: smtp.md.metrocast.net
ME: smtp.metrocast.net
MS: smtp.ms.metrocast.net
NH: smtp.metrocast.net
PA: smtp.pa.metrocast.net
SC: smtp.sc.metrocast.net
VA: smtp.va.metrocast.net
- There should be a check in the ALLOW AUTHENTICATION field. Leave the check there. If you do not see a check in the box, click on the box with your mouse until a check appears.
- Click OK. This completes the basic setup - you should now be able to send and receive email in Eudora.
